As a nurse for more than 25 years, I believe in the power of the human body and spirit. I am in awe of the capacity we have to grow and birth new life.  My practice as an RN is rooted in both science and art, between the physiology of birth, and the grace and raw emotions that create the beautiful moments within it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an educator and nursing professional development specialist, I have the privilege of supporting the educational needs of both expectant parents and their families, as well as birth professionals such as doulas, nurses, APNs &amp; midwives, physicians.  I do this by partnering to empower them in their knowledge about birth, providing advocacy tools, and compassionately listening to their needs.  It is an honor to hold space with them in preparation for the life-changing moments of birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My philosophy about labor &amp; birth and educating within these spaces is that the experience is a life-changing event that deserves our honor and respect.  Recognizing that birth can be both beautiful &amp; daunting to the person experiencing it, I consider it my privilege to support their ability to be empowered by knowledge and to trust their powerful bodies.  I do not subscribe to any particular type of birth, except the one that is right for the individual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let choice whisper in your ear and love murmur in your heart.
